Jessica Alba on Horror Movies

Jessica Alba is not only in the business of acting in horror movies but also likes to sit at home and watch them, the really really scary ones…
Jessica gave an interview to British television channel for the release of THE EYE in England and opened up about her love to Western horror films and why she wouldn’t act in an Eastern one.
“A lot of horror movies that are made have girls running away from a guy who is torturing them or kidnapping them,” said the star, whose latest film The Eye is out this week. “There’s always much more a victim stance when it comes to the female character and it usually involves crying and screaming.
“Playing a blind violinist basically losing her mind was much more interesting to play for me than crying and screaming.”
Jessica revealed that she loves Psycho, Rosemary’s Baby and The Ring, and said that the first horror film she ever saw was Wes Craven’s Nightmare On Elm Street when she was about four and-a-half years old.
The Eye, Jessica’s Toughest Movie Yet

Jessica Alba had participated in quite a few movies in past years, some of which had big productions such as Fantastic Four and Sin City and other with less but surprisingly or not, Jessica Alba noted THE EYE as her “toughest” movie to make so far.
In a recent Interview, Jessica said, “For several reasons, this is up there with the toughest movies I’ve done. We shot a lot in a very short space of time and I’m in pretty much every single scene from beginning to end.”

The Eye, A Flunk or A Hit?
There are two ways to looking at the current earnings of THE EYE when looking at the stats for the first two days. One way presented by many media outlets today is to say that Hanna Montana 3D ‘killed’ THE EYE and the other way is that THE EYE has been doing pretty good making $13Million in its first 2 days.
My question is should the two movies really be compared? I mean you have Hanna Montana selling out for this weekend weeks ago and millions of little girls across the country have been waiting to see this movie forever so should we really be comparing? What do you think?

Another poster was released for THE EYE which is due in theaters February 1st of 2007. Following THE EYE we still have THE LOVE GURU lined up for release in 2008 after that I expect a long time before another Jessica Alba movie is made. Damn, this pregnancy came at the worst time…

New Trailer for The Eye

A new trailer for THE EYE is out today and if gives us a better idea about what this movie entails. In general Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba), an accomplished Los Angeles violinist, has been blind since childhood. She undergoes a double corneal transplant, a surgery she has waited her whole life to have, and her sight is restored. After the surgery, neural ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Faulkner (Alessandro Nivola) helps Sydney with the difficult adjustment, and with the support of her older sister Helen (Parker Posey), Sydney learns to see again. However, her happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her…
When Sydney is told that it shouldn’t matter where her eyes came from, she begins to question when she starts seeing all sorts of crazy shit…
