Sin City DVD Recut & Extended
Looks like Sin City DVD Recut & Extended is gonna be one hot piece of DVD. IGN says it may have better bonus materials than any other DVD in the whole 2005.
Thanks to Robert Rodriguez, the co-director who shot each story in its entirety and planned to restore them for a Special Edition set, this should be a good collectors item. Just don’t hold your breath to see any uncut scenes of Jessica stripping as Nancy, since there’s none. Just grab a copy and make 2005 a good year. I’m sure Jessica will shed some of her clothes next year, I’ve got that feeling deep down.
Some complaints about Jessica Alba’s performance and refusal to strip naked, as Nancy appears in the comic, were aired when the movie was first released but I think that was mostly horny fanboy whining. If anything, keeping her covered maintains the innocence of Nancy and Alba’s sweet performance meshes with this choice. Also, while Britney Murphy’s “dame” vocal affectations seem a bit off-kilter, it works well within the context of the stylized story.
